Education
I am a third year Bachelor of Arts student at UWA majoring firstly in English and Cultural Studies and secondly in Law and Society. I currently have a distinction average and a GPA of 6.2. Next year I plan to commence a Secondary Diploma in Education at UWA, my major area of study being English. I then hope to either go on to do high school English teaching or perhaps afterwards complete Honours in English and Cultural Studies at UWA, my main area of interest being modernism.
Experience
I received the top score for ATAR English literature, Psychology, Modern History and Fine Art from Bunbury Senior High School in 2012. I was also the winner for the South West of WA of Heywire (a regional youth writing competition) in 2011. I am currently tutoring a year 10 student in English from a private school in Perth and it has solidified my interest in teaching. Whether I end up doing high school level English in my post grad or go on to do a PhD in English and Cultural Studies and become a professor, I know for a fact I get real joy out of watching others improve by giving them the tools to enhance their understanding. Both of my parents were teachers, my Mum an English teacher, and so from a young age I was exposed to academic discourse and quickly became aware I had a real appreciation for learning and now I want to teach what I've learnt to others.
