Experience
In addition to my academic endeavours I have approximately 15 years employment experience as a research scientist on major Australian research programs. I currently run Oceanwise Australia a research conservation and education organisation whose main objective is to achieve positive change in our interaction with the natural environment. A very important part of this is to provide educational experiences and to assist young scientists in developing their own skills and careers in this area. I was one of a few students who won a UWA teaching internship scholarship for my interest in helping individuals achieve their career ambitions. I have supervised numerous post graduate students through their studies as well as lectured classes at the university level.
