Education

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree specializing in Linguistics from the University of Otago, which I completed in New Zealand in 2010. I also completed a Master of Arts degree in Applied Linguistics in 2012, as well as a CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) in 2012, both from the University of Queensland in Australia. At the moment, I am completing a Master of Science degree in Speech Pathology from Curtin University in Perth.

Experience

I am offering interested students tutoring sessions in IELTS and PTE training, English for academic purposes, ESL, EAL, creative and persuasive writing, as well as business and professional English. I have 6 years of experience teaching English to both adolescent and adult students. I have previously worked as an English lecturer and IELTS trainer in Malaysia and have also taught, trained, and ran workshops in professional and business English for young professionals. While completing my master's degree I am also working as a casual ELICOS trainer at Murdoch University and Kaplan International in Perth. Prior to this, I worked as a tutor in both New Zealand and Brisbane, tutoring, and training students in ESL, writing composition, and IELTS. I have tutored students at all levels of study, from foundation to master's level. I enjoy teaching students in a fun and lively environment that instills a positive experience and attitude that goes beyond merely passing assessments and exams.
