Education
I completed 3 semesters worth of units in Accounting and Bussiness Law at the University of Western Australia before transferring to Curtin University to study Secondary Education. I have completed and passed my first practicum and my teaching major is in English while my minor is in Geography, however, I am comfortable teaching any subject up to year 10 that is not Mathematics. I would prefer not to teach year 11 and 12 as I feel that role would be better suited to a veteran teacher.
Experience
I run chess clubs after school for an hour with classes anywhere from a few children to a full sized class of 30. I want to be a tutor to further my teaching practice as well as assist in paying for the utilities at home. I tutored other students while attending Highschool in Accounting and Finance. My ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admittance Ranking) was 84.95, meaning I achieved higher marks than 84.95% of my peers that year. While on my first practicum I taught 2 full classes a day 4 days of the week, one English and the other HASS. In the English class, we undertook a film study of 'The Three Musketeers' and in the HASS class, we studied various aspects of Medieval Europe e.g. the 'Black Plague' and 'The First Crusade'
