Private tutor in Perth, Australia

Education

I graduated from St. Hilda's Anglican School for Girls in 2013 with an ATAR of 99.90 (Stage 3 Chemistry, Stage 3 Drama, Stage 3 Literature, Stage 3 Geography, Maths 3C/3D, and Stage 3 French). Then in 2014, I took an intensive French course with CIEF (the Centre Internationale d'Etudes Francais) where I graduated from level 6 with distinction. I then earned my Bachelor of Philosophy with Honors in Geography, Environmental Science, and French from the University of Western Australia.

Experience

I have a total of three years of tutoring experience. This consists of providing a variety of students with one-on-one tutoring in a diverse array of subjects. Each student is unique and therefore I have learned to be flexible in my approach to assist their learning. I try to make my sessions enjoyable, dynamic, and highly interactive. Some of my past students have been on a regular basis while others have merely dipped in and out, calling upon me for assistance when they require it to prepare before exams or to review tests or specific concepts. In general, I have received positive feedback from both my students and their families. I am considering a future career in education as a result of my past tutoring experience and the enjoyment that I have found in helping others to learn. It gives me immense satisfaction to work with my students, boosting their interest, engagement, and grades, and most importantly always providing encouragement. I am patient, reliable, and dedicated, and will provide a tailored learning experience for each student.

Hobbies

I am a keen student, particularly when it comes to French and I try to involve myself as much as I can in the French culture and community. This includes volunteer work for the Bonjour Perth Festival, travel to France and participation in the French Club at my university. I am also a sporty person. I primarily love trail running and cross country - especially the longer distances. I ran my first marathon in June 2016, and I aim to follow that up with a trail marathon at the end of 2017. In my younger years I played saxophone and every now and then I like to pick it up and have a blow although I don't practice regularly. Reading is also very important to me and I try to read a variety of fiction and non-fiction on a regular basis.
